Sad statement on Mississippi

This article appeared on Truthout.org - it is talking about how a Harry Potter fan club has become an active charity organization.  Great story.

However, in the story, we find some of their acts of charity described as :
They have donated more than 55,000 books to school libraries around the world, including the Mississippi Delta and Rwanda
So, we are on par with Rwanda.  Anyone still think Haley Barbour has done any good for the state whatsoever?

  1. I heard a Dave Dennis for Governor ad this morning talking about how Haley did a great job and people and businesses want to move here now.

Businesses may like the idea - but only when they get 10 year tax-free agreements, which do a bit more harm than good for the state. We can't afford to fully fund education, we can't afford a pre-school system, but we can afford to give HUGE tax breaks to businesses and rich people. I don't believe it.

  2. There was another article making a bad statement on Mississippi - indirectly.

"Under George W. Bush and most of his gubernatorial predecessors, Texas public schools were bad. Under Perry, they’re positively Mississippian."
