Jobs up 4th straight month - look for that to Reverse!

Jobs increased last month - by a lot more than expected!  Unemployment stopped growing.  The Economy is Recovering!

Congratulations - with the Republicans gaining control, we can expect that to go backwards just like everything else they have planned.  They Lied to get back in power so they could finish us off.

Maybe not... but I am afraid.  Very afraid.  I have not forgotten Bush.

So, what do we need to do?

Voters hate Republicans and Democrats.
So, what do we need to do RIGHT NOW to bring a true and honest group into our Government that is neither?
Find a Moderate Third Party that is ACTUALLY in line with the needs of the middle class - the 90% of us that make up the working class.
Jim Demint said just now on CNN that "the longer people stay in Washington, the more they" vote with the lobbyists.  That people come in saying "no" to spending, but they are just overwhelmed with, I suppose, the bribes and start voting for earmarks, the talking points of whomever is taking them to lunch.

I'm trying to find an established group that has a policy in place.  I've found two that look promising, but don't have the policy together yet.  So, maybe we can help form the policy... but how?  I don't know yet... but I will post it here when I do.

Whatever happens, I am sure there are people as energized as I am about making the Real change.  So, what am I looking for?

1. Common sense, truth based fiscal policy.  If ya gotta raise taxes - raise them.  Cut spending - list what you are going to cut.

  • Fair tax policy, tax earned and unearned income the same, close most loopholes and 'tax credits' and other gimmicks.  End tax favoritism toward the rich and big businesses.  Everyone pays their fair share.

2. Keep government out of Citizen's houses, out of their privacy!  Encourage Education (or advertising) over Legislation.

  • no abortion law other than banning partial birth and late term abortions.  (small government, out of people's private business, remember) Make lobbyists shift focus from law to education.
  • no religion in government, no government in religion! Protect the First Amendment!!
  • end marijuana prohibition, re purpose surplus enforcement to harder drugs, borders, immigration.
  • pardon marijuana-only prisoners.
  • repeal Patriot Act!  The single biggest offense to our civil liberties.
  • consider ending seatbelt laws, reducing to secondary offense at minimum
  • end Don't Ask, Don't Tell and add sexual orientation to things government doesn't mess with or abide discrimination based on. (so gay marriage is okay, etc)
  • any other law or regulation or 'incentive' the federal government has that intrudes too far into individual liberty with no actual impact on the greater good should be studied for possible elimination.

3. Restrict entitlement programs and make sure that they meet their original intent, not more.

  • End possible system abuse by keeping better records.  For one example, people who work long enough to get unemployment coverage, then quit, live on the entitlement till it runs out and get another job and repeat, should be excluded from the program for life.

4. Always list and consider the consequences of political actions.

  • Cutting federal spending? Then show how many jobs will be lost due to the cuts.
  • Restricting entitlement programs? List the effects it will have, both negative and positive.

5. The federal government should set the guidelines for the states laws.  It should not set the laws for the states unless it is indeed a federal matter.  It should never use federal money as a means to pressure states to pass laws.

  • For example, if your state does not have a mandatory seat belt law, it does not qualify for some federal highway funding.

6. Single effect legislation.  No riders, no attachments, no amendments, no earmarks to bills under consideration.

7. Probably more stuff - but I think I've covered the basics.  Input is welcome!!

More on the Recent Election

I am really scared.  The following articles show why :

Welcome to the Plutocracy

Republican Strategy : Conceal Republican Agenda

Bush's economic blunders

Republican Death Machine

Expiring tax cuts is Republican Policy

Be Cautious if you vote Republican

Shift in Washington stirs economic jitters abroad

Republicans Hate Progress

Disheartened, but Rededicated

A majority of U.S. Citizens proved why we are falling behind every other country in just about everything, education among them.  They voted in the party that told them their goal was to obstruct everything and win in 2012.
I foresee another ridiculous, baseless, obstructionist Impeachment attempt.
Republicans want to regain power and are willing to sacrifice the good of the Nation to do so.
They have promised No Compromise!  They have talking points, but no solid plans!
The people forgot the past 8 years of increasing federal spending, raping the constitution and bankrupting the country and voted for the people who did it!
Seriously, read this! (also linked under bankrupting the country)
Bush made a lot of the problems worse, not Obama.  Obama was only trying to make things a little less harsh - and succeeded - then get things back on track - which the Republicans blocked every attempt.  Simply because if Obama succeeded, they couldn't get back into power.

All I can say is, Voters, you SCREWED UP royally and I am afraid of the consequences of your actions.

Seriously, read the consequences article!  People doing way better than the U.S. in jobs and most importantly, Education - say its a disaster.
And, while I am irked, there are some good suggestions about how to proceed.
Winner-Take-All Politics: How Washington Made the Rich Richer--and Turned Its Back on the Middle Class
You voted for the Rich to Keep Getting Richer, while the rest of us suffer and the U.S. falls further and further behind the rest of the world.

and just adding a quote I found from an article :

Some voters bucked at the incongruity, repeatedly telling pollsters that even programs that have clearly helped the economy, like the $787 billion stimulus, did no such thing. Meanwhile, the resulting spike in deficits, which has been greatly magnified by tax revenue lost to the economic downturn, has spooked a broad sweep of the country, which simply does not trust Washington to responsibly handle such a massive liability.

Magic Tricks

There is magic in the air today... scary, insane magic.

"The greatest magic trick of our lifetime is the Republican Party convincing people to vote against their own interests."

Studies show I am Right!

Read this from an independent news source.

Studies show that I am right 97% of the time when I bother to speak up about something.

Some comments I wanted to share

Yeah, right. Keep believing what the ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation puts out as fact. Fact: Obama has inherited the biggest deficit of any president in American history. (Adjusted for real dollars, and inflation.)Obama must now prime the pump, to get us out of a multi-pronged mess left over from the Bush crowd, and seven years of Repub control. They chose to look the other way and ignore the financial chicanery going on right in front of them, while the income gap between the very wealthy, and real workers, grew to unprecedented levels. Their only prescription for every ill: take two tax-cuts for those already wealthy, and call me in the morning. The income gap is one trend that the corporations, and conservatives, see no problem with. However, without an economically viable, job-working, spending middle class, there can be no economic recovery. Look—Bush and the Repubs would not even acknowledge that America was in a recession until about five months ago. Remember this?…”The fundamentals of the economy are strong”. This falsehood was flouted by the Bush Administration, Republicans, and conservative pundits throughout the news media, while we were actually headed over the abyss. The surest way to insure our nation plunges into the worst depression we have ever seen, is to keep listening to the propaganda spewing conservative cranks. It was the ultra “free market” ideologies of groups like the American Heritage Foundation, that got us into this mess. No matter how you skew the graphs, or the facts, Bush never included the military budgets in his spending projections. Obama is including those expenditures. It is also important to differentiate between the cost of the Iraq/Afghanistan wars, and the Pentagon budgets. (Two very different budgets, and different costs.). Beware of those that would like to re-write history. FDR saved our hind-ends. And, he did so while fighting two wars. People approved of what FDR was doing, because he was elected three times. Now, let’s see…What was going on before FDR took office? Hmmm….Economically, it looks a heck of a lot like what was going on before Obama took office. Keep listening to the conservative, “free market’ idealogues, and we’ll be back to Hooverville, or worse. Worried about deficits? Who is’nt?! But, how will we ever pay down debt in America, if we can’t get our spiralling economy going again? Nothing says misery like NO JOBS, and no hope. Conservatives always cry crockadile tears over deficits. Everytime good government agencies are cut, (Say, for instance, FEMA, Medicare, education, and for that matter, the local fire dept.) that can go to more tax breaks for those already wealthy, and more tax cuts for mega corporations. Wise up!

I swear you can lead a Conservative to the facts, you just can’t get them to think!
Look at the pictures and read the story!! Notice W came into office with a Budget Surplus??? W like Reagan and his Dad before him ALL spent more and accumulated more deficit than all the Presidents before them combined!!
W and Cheney are both on record stating “Reagan proved deficits don’t matter.”
W’s Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neil quit his post as a result of this spend like a crazy man GOP mentality that evolved through Reagan.
Yet with a Democrat in office we were able to eliminate the deficit spending that is so a part of the GOP “do as I say not as I do” platform.
Now Obama walks in and has to address the worst Economy assumed since the Depression and the America haters come out hoping for failure???
So when Reagan was inaugurated and the Stock Market plummeted the next day, were you all making up racist names for him? When it took a full year for the market to recover were you using racist pet names for him?
When Reagan spent more than all previous Presidents combined to jump start the Economy were you all attacking him with racist pet names? When it took almost 4 years for the Economy to recover, were you all attacking him with racist pet names?
If you want to know who is responsible for this mess, look in the mirror and remember that you have been voting for a party that talks the virulent talk but stays away from walking the walk.

Reported today…
Orders to U.S. factories for big-ticket manufactured goods and new homes sales both rose unexpectedly in February.
The Commerce Department said Wednesday that orders for durable goods — manufactured products expected to last at least three years — increased 3.4 percent last month, much better than the 2 percent fall economists expected.
It was the first advance after a record six straight declines and the strongest one-month gain in 14 months.
YES in the midst of all this rhetoric and subjectivity, we see the first advance in durable goods orders in 14 months!! Way back into the W administration when the economy was tanking!!
It didn’t start the day Obama was inaugurated, it started a full year before he took office!!
In the midst of all this rhetoric and anti American sentiment flowing from the Conservatives, the Market had it’s largest 2 week gain in 70 years and durable goods orders and home starts are on the rise.
So you Cons just keep up your childish rhetoric, the rest of us are going to wash off the stench of 8 years of W and get this Country back to where it was financially and internationally when Clinton handed over the reigns to W.

and for some perspective, read this... and this
